Thinking and feeling in three dimensions is something man was born with. From this, it follows that the observation of things is also a spatial one. 3D printing, an increasingly popular and, above all, innovative production technology, is just the logical consequence of progress that technically implements what is actually quite natural. Faucet manufacturer GROHE uses this new technology and applies it to a new faucet that allows you to experience water in a fresh, new dimension.

In the process, the supposedly impossible becomes possible: the new GROHE Atrio Icon 3D, beautiful, unagitated and minimalist in its reduced form, is created using a three-dimensional metal printing process that uses its own granulate for production. It is the next generation of the legendary GROHE Atrio, and is consistently through-composed in terms of design. Its most important feature is its absolute reduction of geometry, and it goes much further than that. Designed as two options, a wall-mount or a deck-mount basin mixer, the water starts flowing ‘much earlier’, namely directly from the wall or at the top of the faucet. Optical illusion? Not at all. The sophisticated functionality of the GROHE Atrio Icon 3D gives the water jet the touch of a fascinating illusion and an elegant aesthetic through the open spout’s laminar water flow. Appearing like a classic faucet with a clear silhouette from the side, GROHE Atrio Icon 3D reveals an unexpectedly slender physicality when viewed from the front, which literally takes the minimalism of the GROHE Atrio to the extreme.

Believe your eyes. Not only is the way that water from Atrio flows exceptional, the 3D printing process from a single material is equally so. Sustainability is thus expressed in both the creation and function of the product

The word sustainability is not just a throwaway phrase here. The entire production of the fittings is particularly resource-friendly thanks to 3D printing and the use of a single material, as the metal is added and shaped layer by layer. This not only makes the birth of the faucet – the production – a process that makes maximum use of 3D printing, but also simplifies recycling at the end of its life. The finishing touches are applied by hand – perfected teamwork between technology and man, meeting the highest quality standards. But besides all the know-how, the real showstopper is a profile that has to be seen to be believed.
