Following the successful market launch of the HygieneGlaze ceramic surface in 2015, Duravit's research and development team has further developed the innovative ceramic glaze. The result is HygieneGlaze 2.0, with which Duravit is setting previously unattained standards of hygiene for toilets and urinals.

The glaze, which is baked into the ceramic during firing, has the ability to kill bacteria – and in record time: 90% of pathogens disappear within just 6 hours, and 99.999% after 24 hours. Due to the oligodynamic effect triggered by the combination of positively charged metal ions with other active ingredients, pathogens such as E. coli bacteria and other unwanted guests have no chance of survival. The glaze burnt into the entire interior right up to the edge of the toilet and urinal ensures that the toilet is absolutely clean. And perfect in form, too.
