Edra inaugurates its first Japanese flagship store in Tokyo, in the Minami-Aoyama district, the heart of international creativity and art.

Kosuke Kitamura, Director of Living House Co., Ltd., Edra’s exclusive distributor in Japan, says:
“There are many pieces of furniture with distinctive designs on the market, but Edra is different. It’s not just a question of aesthetics. Their attention to production quality is extraordinary. This focus is also reflected in a unique way of presenting the models, creating a museum-like space that clearly stands out from normal furniture stores. Their beauty shines through, as if they were sculptures. I realized it was worth bringing Edra to Japan, and doing it in their own way—the ideal approach for conveying the company's values.”
The principles guiding the flagship store project are the same ones that have always defined Edra and its spaces: elegance, attention to detail, absolute quality, and the display of products as absolute protagonists. Spazio Edra is a timeless environment. Large mirrored wall surfaces dematerialize the boundaries and reflect the pure geometries of the models, allowing them to be admired from every angle.
Kosuke Kitamura explains how the culture of living in Japan has been evolving in recent years.
“If the home was traditionally lived in as a private and reserved space, today there is a growing desire to surround oneself with authentic, quality furnishings capable of expressing one's own sensibility. In this scenario, Edra is the ideal interpreter of a change in progress, bringing its unique vision of beauty and comfort to Japan.”
In this context, the sofas, armchairs, and accessories from the collection are displayed in their essence. The showroom thus becomes the ideal place to get to know the company's thinking and creations up close. Here, visitors can have a direct experience of the furnishings: looking at them, touching them, sitting on them. Each model thus reveals its own qualities and its ability to modify the atmosphere, stimulating the sensibility of those who experience them and inviting them to rediscover the value of living.
For Monica Mazzei, Vice President of Edra, the opening of the Japanese space represents a significant moment:
"Japan has always been a place of great fascination for me, where aesthetics and thought intertwine. Meeting Masanori Umeda in 1990 and creating the Getsuen and Rose Chairs was a special moment. Opening an Edra Space in Aoyama today, in the heart of Tokyo, is a beautiful and very important achievement: we believe that our models can dialogue with the silence, elegance, and delicate light of Japanese spaces, meeting an audience sensitive to quality and the value of time."
Edra has always held a precise idea: to produce with superlative quality in terms of comfort, elegance, and performance. The ideas of its designers represent the generative principle behind deep experimentation that, after years of work, leads to products destined to last forever.
The headquarters are in Tuscany, a region whose traditions and timeless beauty are part of the company itself and are reflected in every detail of the collection.
Today, Edra is known worldwide for the unique qualities of its models, which combine artistic tradition, technological research, highly skilled craftsmanship, and premium materials.
