Wilkhahn’s WiChair is a chair full of surprises. With its minimalist design language, flowing lines and understated form, the new task chair makes an immediate visual statement. But it’s only when you sit on the WiChair that its true potential unfolds.
Thanks to a subtly flexible, curved steel bracket beneath the seat, the WiChair intuitively responds to every movement. This intelligent design not only provides three-dimensional flexibility but also encourages healthy, dynamic sitting throughout the day — without the need for complex mechanisms.
WiChair unites aesthetic clarity with comfort, sustainability and ergonomic innovation
Whether in contemporary offices, co-working spaces or home workstations, the WiChair unites aesthetic clarity with comfort, sustainability and ergonomic innovation. It’s a fresh interpretation of the classic office chair — and a great companion for fluid, flexible working environments.

Reduction with purpose
Wilkhahn has long championed the value of movement in seated work. With the WiChair, the company continues this legacy while reducing mechanical complexity to an elegant minimum. The chair uses a single curved steel element that acts as both structure and dynamic core. It flexes and twists gently with the user’s body, allowing smooth transitions between upright posture and relaxed recline. The backrest opens as you lean back, the seat subtly lowers — a natural, supportive sequence that mirrors human movement.
A clever twist: under the seat, a small rotary knob adjusts the spring tension to accommodate different user weights. A few turns is all it takes to personalise the seating experience, ensuring ergonomic support across a wide range of users.

Designed for circularity
The WiChair doesn’t just move well — it’s also designed to last. In line with Wilkhahn’s ecological design principles, the chair is constructed for durability, disassembly and recycling. Just seven screws (or eleven with armrests) are all it takes to assemble or dismantle the entire chair. The base is made from recycled aluminium, the frame from recyclable steel, and the plywood seat shells are FSC®-certified. Plastics are only used where absolutely necessary — for example, in castors or gas lifts. With a carbon footprint starting at just 31 kg CO₂e, the WiChair proves that high-performing design and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Variety within simplicity
Though reduced in form, the WiChair offers a surprising degree of personalisation. The frame is available in a range of colours — from raw steel or matte black to soft lemon, blush pink, mint green or light grey. The plywood shells come in natural, white or black oak veneer. Upholstered versions or removable fabric covers add further comfort and flexibility.Every visible component — from armrests to screws — is carefully colour-coordinated. This attention to detail allows the WiChair to integrate seamlessly into a wide variety of interior schemes, from minimalist studios to vibrant co-working lounges.

Form follows feeling
As working environments become more fluid and decentralised, furniture must do more than meet ergonomic standards. It must adapt to changing needs and enhance the quality of our everyday movements. The WiChair embraces this philosophy by encouraging subtle activity rather than passive posture. The result is a chair that feels alive — and allows its users to stay that way too.The WiChair will be available from late October 2025 through authorised Wilkhahn partners and selected online retailers.
