The 3to9 lighting system by Neri&Hu, pays homage to Chinese customs and is inspired by the art of flying paper kites, known as zhiyuan. Its construction consists of a panel of translucent fabric enveloping a slender metal wire structure, available in clear steel or bronze. The structure shapes the lampshade, while the fabric evenly diffuses light and offers a range of versatile compositions.
Thanks to attentive philological research and development conducted in partnership with the Archivio Design Ico Parisi (Ico Parisi Design Archives), Cassina presents the Palpebra table lamp, a playful accessory that expresses the creative inspiration of its great master. The intensive design process resulted in a sophisticated miniaturised system of rotation enabling the upper cover to open and close like an eyelid, allowing adjustment of the angle of light emission from the turned aluminium hemisphere. Cassina also implemented a new light adjustment technology, equipped with a capacitive sensor providing customised light intensity.
