SDIJ Academy / Korean Artist Center

LETROH, an Italian company specialized in lighting and electrotechnical products, has supplied its NODO system (designer Marco Spada and Alessandra Gipponi) for the electrification of the study desks of the private academy inside the KOREAN ARTIST CENTER, located in the south-western part Seoul, South Korea.
The KOREAN ARTIST CENTER was created in 2011 for Korean artists. It is a place where broadcasters, artists and local residents meet. Many Korean artists associations are based here: dancers, architects, musicians, theater and contemporary artists, directors and writers. The center is an important broadcasting and education hub from Seoul and throughout South Korea.
LETROH started its works in 2019 and closed operations in 2020. The client is SDIJ, a private academy with different locations in Korea which has seen the participation of more than 70,000 students in the last 5 years.
LINETASTE took care of the construction of the renovation works on behalf of the client (SDIJ-Academy). The company took care of the creation of the furnishings, designed by Migyeong Jo.
The designer found the solution to a series of project problems with the NODO product. Through the system (mountable on site and modular) the electrification of the furniture was totally avoided with a significant saving on installation time and costs.
The track, the backbone of the system, has been developed for a length of over 2000 meters and has electrified more than 2000 desks, 200 of which have been completed with reading lamps from the NUO series.
The system was chosen both for the simplification of the electrical installation and for the possibility of adapting the system to future needs. The NODO BOX elements that integrate the electrical sockets and NUO lamps can be added and moved at will.
