Distant, relaxing sounds come from the floor above, scenes from your favourite film dance across the screen as you enjoy a bath, enveloped in the fragrance of your favourite bubble bath, or you relax on a lounger. This is how most people envisage relaxing in the comfort and privacy of their bathroom at home. In fact nowadays bathrooms no longer have a purely practical function, but must offer something special, making the time we spend there as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
The clients’ brief for this bathroom in Münster (Germany) was to create a room dedicated to wellness. In other words, a bathroom that combined all the usual functional elements with a modern wellness area. By incorporating an adjoining room that was no longer used, the surface area available for the project was generous - 26 m2. And the fact that the clients were open to innovative details was an added bonus: hence the idea of a separate washbasin, which gave them more space for the shower and washbasin area. Another important request regarded the wellness system, as they wanted enough space for the benches in the sauna and for relaxing. The control panel of the sauna was built into the unit. The lighting comes from a number of secondary light sources and from under the unit and is recessed in the ceiling, with a dimming function.

SKY sauna by Effegibi: the understated design transformed this sauna into a piece of furniture in its own right, blending in seamlessly with any style.
