Camille Hermand Architectures design of this Parisian apartment accentuates its traditional Hausmmanian architecture with the use of contemporary design codes and an unexpected palette of colour.

Located opposite the Parc Monceau in Paris’ chic 8th district, Camille Hermand Architectures renovated this large Haussmannian apartment for a young family wanting a contemporary and chic home, without losing the traditional charm. To respect and give new life to its original features, Camille mixed the its typically Haussmannian architecture with contemporary design codes and an unexpected palette of colours.

Conserving the generous size of the entrance hall, the space finds its former glory with a choice of moody and mysterious hues and wallcoverings. The main living room becomes a central and multi-functional space for all the family, ancred by a semi-open plan, made-to-measure kitchen. Designed by Camille, the kitchen sits comfortably between the dining area, a large reading room with an impressive library and an informal area for the kids. Throughout, the colour palette mixes smokey pastels with dark and moody shades, emphasizing the timeless charm of the architecture. Its high ceiling, the decorative mouldings and its parquet flooring find new life through gentle contrasts with a contemporary selection of furniture.
