Wein&Co

Aesthetically, the new Wein & Co Welt, which looks out directly onto the main entrance to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, is given over to the realms of the gods. This becomes apparent in the rear of the ground floor. A spectacular fresco in the tasting corner shows motifs and props from the worlds of the gods created by the old Baroque and Renaissance masters. The pinot-noir-red velvet chairs, specially created for Wein & Co and crafted by traditional Viennese company Wittmann, have echoes of the asymmetrical elements that crop up time and again elsewhere in the wine merchant’s flagship store, and mark an artful departure from the otherwise minimalist style.
