Déco designs the new Sarnico footbridge on Lake Iseo

Opened in June 2025, the new "Sarnico Footbridge" fits into the natural landscape of the Taxodi Park on Lake Iseo without altering its balance, as an architectural intervention that is able to bring together public enjoyment, design quality and respect for the environment. The semi-circular footpath, which is over 200 meters long, has a light appearance and is made of high-performance materials to promote an immersive experience within nature, while also enhancing the relationship between architecture and context. A wonderful walk that allows you to admire the fauna and flora of the oasis, with its centuries-old conifers native to North America.

The material chosen for the footpath's cladding is Décowood by Déco, in the shade Sand, the innovative composite wood with fiberglass that meets multiple needs: on an aesthetic level it helps the structure blend in with the landscape, while on a functional level, it is a durable solution that is also resistant to weathering, to ensure high performance in a lake environment characterized by high humidity, prolonged sun exposure and high footfall.

Décowood was created from a unique formula that combines hardwood powder, recycled polymers and fiberglass, forming a material that is up to 40% stronger in terms of tensile strength, elasticity and impact resistance than traditional composites. This decking is distinguished by its stability over time, immunity to natural and chemical aggression, water resistance,lack of chipping, and color stability.

All these characteristics therefore make it ideal for paving in public spaces and landscape architecture projects, where aesthetics and performance need to coexist.

In addition, the minimal maintenance required is an added advantage for interventions in natural settings with considerable footfall, such as boardwalks, jetties and footpaths.
