Vella Bed

Description: Designer Michele di Fonzo is the third generation of his family to celebrate and build upon the leather traditions his grandfather began in 1921. For nearly a century, this family of designers has been transforming leather into a versatile and modern product, drawing inspiration from other fields like fashion and luggage design, where leather is as much about structure as it is about aesthetics. It takes more than seven hours to create one Vella Bed (2016), and each one is finished by hand with skill, passion and care. The slender but strong frame is wrapped in smooth-as-silk stain-resistant saddle leather that’s hand-sewn to hug every angle and curve, and the detail where the headboard meets the frame is especially stunning.
