Concepto
Con el programa 808, el estudio de diseño muniqués Formstelle ha creado un sillón que combina la máxima comodidad con numerosas posibilidades de personalización. El sillón 808 juega con el contraste entre la envoltura protectora y la apertura y crea un rincón íntimo y tranquilo a su alrededor. Su aspecto característico surge de una reinterpretación coherente del sillón orejero clásico: la parte superior del respaldo recuerda a un cuello envolvente. El cuerpo abraza a su ocupante y le transmite una sensación de protección. La segunda característica es su cómodo acolchado, que evoca a las olas. El núcleo interior blando, que se asemeja a un cojín suelto, contrasta de forma sugerente con el cuerpo exterior. Por último, un mecanismo de ajuste inteligente permite al usuario adaptar el sillón a sus necesidades. El compacto sillón 809 es el «hermano pequeño» del exitoso sillón 808 y sirve como lugar de descanso tanto en espacios más pequeños como en grupo, en combinación con el sillón grande o con las mesas auxiliares bajas 1808 y 1809. Para el sillón 809 hay una pala de escritura opcional que también puede utilizarse como superficie para depositar cosas. El programa se completa con un reposapiés opcional. Para que resulte aún más confortable se le puede añadir un reposacabezas. El contrapeso integrado permite colocarlo de forma flexible, así la cabeza de la persona que se siente tendrá siempre el apoyo perfecto. Disponible en numerosos tapizados —desde modelos de tela hasta variantes de piel—, el cojín logra un atractivo impacto visual en colores de contraste o se funde armoniosamente con el cuerpo envolvente de este cómodo sillón.

Our design is a tribute to simplicity, to the purity of the materials, the constancy of the form. For furnitures which last more than a lifetime. ZEITRAUM furniture doesn´t age, it matures. WOOD – COMFORTABLE AND LIVELY The special glow of our timber is an invitation for both hands and eyes to follow its unique structure and grain. It doesn´t matter whether warm or cold, wood always feels comfortable. We can´t really see it because it lives very slowly. That´s impressive! Even more impressive is the fact that wood lives on after it has been felled – the floorboards creak, the walls groan almost as if they had just grown a new ring. THE SURFACES OF OUR FURNITURE ARE IMPORTANT FOR US. They have to look good, fell smooth and smell natural. We have to work hard to achieve this: the finely sanded surfaces are primed with oil and then sanded again prior to being hand finished with oil or beeswax balsam. This open-pore treatment allows the wood to breathe, absorbing and dispensing moisture from its surroundings. This treatment also prevents static, meaning that the surfaces don´t attract dust. PRODUCT CARE ZEITRAUM furniture is hand made with much care and is extremely robust. Looking after the furniture is therefore a simple task. In most cases wiping the surfaces with da damp cloth is all that´s required. An occasional oiling, or in the case of heavily abraded surfaces such as tabletops, waxing will keep the furniture looking great – you might even enjoy it!
