PORTLAND 325 is named after the code for cement powder commonly used in the production of concrete. The entire collection has a fresh and modern textural feel inspired by the surfaces of the recent past.

The design of the surface is based on photographs and digital scans of plastered walls in a 1940s factory that has now fallen into disuse. The unique vitality of the manual plasterwork blends harmoniously with signs left by the passage of time.

As an a masterpiece of Arte Informale, this makes for a perfectly balanced aesthetic, where the trowel marks, scratches and shade variations alternate unexpectedly with areas where the plaster has come away from the surface. This original solution is adopted for both the floor and wall tiles (available in the two sizes 30x60 cm and 60x60 cm) and in the 40x170 cm ceramic strip format, produced using high plasticity raw materials that allow for greater installation flexibility.

The new large-format tiles from Ariana are produced using Auto-Leveling technology, in which a very small degree of convexity guarantees maximum bonding to the substrate. After installation, they level automatically under their own weight to achieve perfect flatness.
