Isabel Ahm says the human body provided inspiration as she was designing our C65 dining table: She pictured the table legs functioning like shoulders, carrying the tabletop. Obviously, there is more to good design than meets the eye!

Dining Table with Dutch Pullout The functionality and versatility of the C65 are guaranteed by its “Dutch pullout” feature, which makes expanding the number of dining places quite easy. With a few simple adjustments, seating capacity increases from eight to 12.

The table combines solid oak and oak veneer, giving each table a unique look – no two are exactly alike.

Everyday Challenges Solved by Good Design

Isabel Ahm graduated as a furniture designer from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2007 and has run her own studio since 2009. For her, the design process includes researching how people eat, sleep, and spend time together. These studies give her valuable insights into everyday life, insights that she incorporates into her work.

Her designs have garnered her a number of exhibitions and awards, as well as a surprising collaboration with Denmark’s Boxer TV – a sofa designed specifically for watching TV – and participation in the TV show Denmark’s Next Classic.

The Åstrup pullout table is Isabel Ahm’s first design for FDB Møbler.
