MATERIALS

The chair consists of a steel frame with a fully casted PUR-foamed shell. The foamed shell is always fully upholstered with either textile or sheepskin with a wadding layer underneath.

The armrests and legs are made of solid oak provided with a thin layer of transparent matt lacquer.

Concepto

The Arctander Chair was designed by Philip Arctander in 1944. It is also known as Muslingestolen- the Clam Chair. In 2016, Paustian will be putting the chair back into production, in collaboration with Sofie Arctander Paustian.

The Arctander Chair is available both with and without curved armrests. It has club-shaped legs, and the seat and back are upholstered and buttoned. All chairs in sheepskin are numbered in the label under the chairs.
