Ring Table Walnut

In close collaboration with industrial designer Olivia Herms, long-time project manager at Konstantin Grcic, a dining table has been created with the development, all the way from design to production, having taken place in Germany. The round dining table features a filigree metal frame with butterfly-shaped struts. The connecting element is a central ring that elegantly brings together the table legs and the tabletop- a striking detail that has also been used in the Acapulco Chairs.

The ring also facilitates space-saving transport of the table and furniture assembly. In creating the chair in this way, Olivia Herms is maintaining direct continuity with the Acapulco Chair: “The table is a natural development following on from the Acapulco Chair, and has been inspired by its delicate, complex geometries”, explains the designer. “Viewed together, the table's shape also influences the perception of the chair”, adds Olivia Herms.

As owner Benjamin Caja puts it, “Friends come together at a round table”. “As a clear nod to our existing collection, the Ring Table not only follows on from the delicate, complex design of the Acapulco Chairs, but also makes companionship as the epitome of the Mexican way of life tangible to all. The new piece of furniture is therefore a contemporary way of completing the Acapulco Design product family”, explains Benjamin Caja.
