The inaugural edition of Design Shenzhen wrapped up a couple of weeks ago, having happily hosted 40,000 visitors and over 250 brands in China's first city of design. Here we share a few of the highlights of the event…

Taking place for the first time from 27 February to 2 March, Design Shenzhen will host an inspiring mix of visiting international brands together with those flying the flag for the region's local design talent. 

While the London Design Festival's big-top design destinations, such as Super Brands London, Tent, designjunction and 100% Design pulled large crowds, a number of design brands used their city showrooms as spaces for serving up fascinating slices of design-historical culture.
