Featuring a wider angle on the curve of the backrest, and six spindles, this prototype Grass Seated chair is one of the first examples of the form George Nakashima ever produced. This early chair was acquired from Nakashima when he had first moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania and was still living in a tent. The seat is of bailing twine and was woven by Marion Nakashima.
