For many, the Warsaw Home Fair, in place since 2016, is still a relatively new point in the calendar of the most important interior design events in Europe. The two sessions organized so far have proven, however, that manufacturers, architects, designers and enthusiasts of good design can meet not only in Milan, Cologne, Paris or Stockholm, but also in Warsaw. The capital of Poland connects the east and west of Europe, and it has become a perfect place to present new products and establish business relationships for all who want to exist within these markets.

Last year, this opportunity was used by the over 400 interior design companies that had exhibited at the Warsaw fair, which attracted a total of 64 thousand visitors. Among them, there were as many as 20 thousand company representatives and 9 thousand architects and designers who were looking for inspiration and new contacts. The event's turnout success demonstrated that in this region, a fresh idea was needed for an international trade show of functional design that is addressed to a wide audience with diverse preferences - from enthusiasts of vintage style and enthusiasts of minimalism, to fans of technological innovations and futuristic design. However, there are many indications that the Warsaw Home 2018 fair, which will start on October 4 under the slogan "Strength!", will be even more spectacular. Check out why it's worth being there.

The strength of 800 interior design companies in one place

The success of the previous editions of Warsaw Home meant that, this year, more companies will want to participate. Indeed, the organisers expect a total of 800 companies. The largest international players - Vitra, Magis, Kartell and Kinnarps - have already confirmed their presence, attracted by the prosperity of the Polish interior market – furniture imports are increasing every year – and the proximity of Eastern markets.

At Warsaw Home 2018, however, it is worth paying attention to companies originating from Poland - the sixth largest manufacturer and the fourth largest furniture exporter in the world. The stand of TRE Product, a brand created by Tomek Rygalik, whose minimalistic accessories have already gained recognition (among others) at Ambiente in Frankfurt and Maison & Objet in Paris, will be a must for fans of good design. Furthermore, vintage style enthusiasts should see the exhibition of the Vzór brand of iconic Polish armchairs from the 1950s and 1960s. You must also have a look at the stand of the MDD office furniture brand. Their system of light, metal "New School" seats with their very contemporary colours, designed by the famous Form Us With Love studio, aroused great interest during the Stockholm fair.

120,000 m2 of good design

To answer the growing interest, the event's organisers have decided to expand the exhibition space more than twofold. Exhibitors will be provided with 5 halls with a total area of 120,000 m2 that will be divided into the sectors of Furniture, Kitchen & Dining, Deco, Interior Finish and Selected Design. Smaller companies and young designers will present themselves in the special zone of the Poland Design Festival. Extending the duration of the fair to four days (4-7 October, 2018) and introducing a strict division into access days for the industry (Thursday, Friday) and for the public (weekend) will facilitate the task of professionals who wish to establish business relations during the event. Owing to these decisions, Warsaw Home 2018 will become bigger than other better-known interior design events in Poland and abroad.

Design stars that attract crowds

The organisers of Warsaw Home, from the very beginning, had bet upon enticing real magnets for visitors - the best designers and architects in the world, hence, building the prestige of the event. In 2016, the special guest of the event was Karim Rashid, the controversial "Prince of Plastic", whose lecture attracted real crowds. The second edition of the fair was highlighted by the presence of Neri&Hu, last year's winner of the prestigious EDIDA award in the "Designer of the Year" category.

Things will not be different this time, because the star of Warsaw Home 2018 will be Tom Dixon, one of the most recognisable contemporary designers. The British designer will not only present the latest collection of his brand, but also deliver a lecture referring to the slogan of this year's edition - Strength!

Other foreign guest-exhibitors include Nica Zupanc, whose works are distinguished by their emotional load and unusual craftsmanship (for years, the Slovene was one of the most-observed designers at Milan Design Week). What is more, as per tradition, Warsaw Home will be graced by the presence of the most famous Pole in the industry, Oskar Zięta, the creator of the cult PLOPP stool and of the FiDU technology that he uses to manufacture lightweight and durable steel sheet objects.

Strategic location

Location is crucial in the trade fair industry. Two previous editions of Warsaw Home have proven that the Ptak Warsaw Expo centre, located at the meeting point of Eastern and Western Europe, is the perfect place to organise such an event. Equipped with 15 thousand parking spaces, the exhibition complex is located 15 minutes from the centre of Warsaw, at the connection of the A2 motorway and the most important expressways connecting Poland to the rest of Europe. It is, therefore, easily accessible, not only for the residents of the 3-million capital and other cities in Poland, but also to companies and visitors from Germany, Russia and other neighbouring countries. What is essential for people from abroad, who last year accounted for 29 percent of Warsaw Home visitors, is the easy access to Chopin International Airport located just 10 minutes from the trade fair centre.
