The Resopal brand is associated with a seemingly countless number of applications for interior surfaces and fittings – for everything from offices to gastronomy and hotels to clinics, sports facilities, shop and trade fair infrastructure, facade design as well as the interior design of trains and ships. With such a broad scope of usage, it is hardly surprising that the company boasts an already expansive programme of surfaces, but it's now expanding even further with the significant addition of the new Creative Selection to its range of solutions.

Based in the south of Germany, Resopal manufactures high-pressure laminate panels (HPL) and the Creative Selection range allows for more than 200 different new combinations to be created. Wood, marble and stone decors extend the range, as do a variety of patterns in combination with one of three surfaces – Fine Pearl, Elegant Matt and High Wear – and, oriented to constantly changing design trends, the Creative Selection will continue to be updated. In addition, the new designs complement the company's existing lines. The collection is available from just one piece, initially as HPL and HPL compact board, and in the practical dimensional format of 3,050mm x 1,300mm. This makes it suitable for almost all interior applications such as doors, wall panelling, niche back panels and furniture.

Thanks to Creative Selection, realistic surface looks can be achieved, such as in plywood (Plywood Natural) or the classic herringbone pattern (Barrel Chevron)

Trend stories

To help designers, architects and fabricators keep track of the sheer range of design options, Resopal has grouped them into easy-to-understand 'Trend Stories'. For example, the 'Scandic' trend, which celebrates Nordic furnishing styles, or 'Industrial Chic', which combines elements that are often perceived as rather brutal, such as those found in workshops or factories, with finely coordinated, warm-looking details.

The Trend Stories were developed by Sarah Czittrich, head of design management at Resopal, who says of the Creative Selection: ‘We follow current design trends with the collection and draw inspiration for it from interior design fairs and trade publications. This way, Resopal is able to react flexibly to the wishes of the market and customer.’

Inspiring, realistic, diverse

In concrete terms, this means that if the demand for naturally inspired decors such as different types of wood or stone grows, the range will continue to adapt. Resopal already offers deceptively real-looking designs such as solid pine or oak, plywood panels and various parquet patterns as well as realistic natural stone textures, brick-wall and concrete surfaces. In addition, most of the designs – particularly the more graphic ones, some of which are reminiscent of the Art Deco style – are available in several colour versions.

All designs can be searched for and found in Resopal's online design library, sorted by both type of material – wood, stone, graphic etc. – as well as by the current six Trend Stories. This makes the selection of thematically suitable designs simple, whether for a café or a coworking space. Additionally, Resopal's theme worlds are a good source of inspiration for researching and creating refreshing and new interior concepts.

Durable and multifunctional

All HPL and HPL compact panels from Resopal are characterised by high levels of abrasion, impact and scratch resistance. Of course, they are lightfast, heat-resistant up to 160°C, crack-resistant, harmless in relation to contact with food and easy to clean. An additional aspect that is of particular importance to planners and builders is that all Creative Selection surfaces are antibacterial and thus eliminate 99.9% of all bacteria, so provide additional support in the cleaning of intensively used surfaces in public areas such as reception areas, doctors' surgeries and fitness centres. Not only visually attractive, then, but also highly practical.
