Impressive counterpoint: Duravit Viu and XViu

According to psychology, opposites attract. And this principle also relates to product design, whenever exciting contrasts of materials or forms are created.

And it is precisely this that Duravit and sieger design celebrate with the new complete bathroom series Viu and XViu, which bring post-industrial elegance to bathrooms. The complete series comprises the XViu furniture range, the Viu ceramic range and matching bathtubs. It is perfectly coordinated and, thanks to its many variants, allows for very personal design of individual bathrooms.

The unique design of Viu and XViu skilfully combines rectangles and curves, combining precise geometry with organic shapes. The choice of colours and materials also encourages exciting contrasts, resulting from combining surfaces of the finest ceramics, glass and metal with fine woods, as well as matt or high-gloss lacquers.

The highlight of the series is the wash station variant with metal console. Thanks to the patented c-bonded technology, ceramic and metal are seamlessly joined together, making the wash bay an iconic object. The precisely defined rectangle encloses an organic, gently curved interior basin with a generous storage area. Depending on perspective, the three-dimensional feet of the metal console appear as a V-profile or fine line.

The significant V-profile is also found in the freestanding bathtub and make it especially eye-catching. In particular, the combination of a high-gloss white acrylic bath with a Black Matt metal frame makes for a captivating contrast.

All of the products in the Viu and XViu series exhibit perfection down to the smallest detail. In a virtuoso play of contrasts, they show how to skilfully and successfully meld soft shapes with precision geometry.
