Clerkenwell Design Week, sponsored by Jaguar is the UK's leading independent design festival and one of the most important trade events on the design calendar. The festival takes place annually each May and 2013 will be the festival's 4th year and its biggest yet.

Clerkenwell has more architects per square mile than anywhere else on the planet, in addition to boasting over 60 showrooms and a wealth of creative businesses. CDW 2013, as in previous years, takes advantage of this creative hub bringing the community together with talks, events, workshops and over 250 international brands.

CDW2013 will showcase top brands in their 3 main hub exhibition venues (The Farmiloe Building, The Order of St. John and The House of Detention) including Magis, Foscarini, Zanotta, Emu and Vitamin, Deadgood, Dare Studio, Se London and Boca Do Lobo. Showrooms such as Vitra, Boss, Kinnarps, Steelcase, Wilkahn, Dauphin, Haworth and Orangebox are just some of the renowned brands opening their doors during the festival plus newcomers Arper, Bagno Designs and NUD Collection. This year CDW also launches 'Covered' at Charterhouse Square, a pop-up venue dedicated entirely to architects and designers with brands such as Burmatex, Muraspec and CDS Tiles already involved.

In addition, there will be installations from Design Exquis, Assemble Studios, Mobile Studio and Architecture for Humanity with more to be announced soon. Many of Clerkenwell's 60-odd showrooms will host talks and workshops, with big name architects and designers on the bill including Patricia Urquiola, The Bouroullec Brothers and Tom Dyckhoff. It will also be a year of birthdays as Knoll celebrates 75 years, Bulo 50 years and our sister magazine Icon reaches the grand old age of 10!
