Greek luminaire manufacturer ALPHABET BY ZAMBELIS’s new website functions as a planning tool for creating the right lighting concepts, as well as helping professionals communicate their ideas to customers.

An alphabet is a toolbox for creativity, providing the basic building blocks for all written texts. When arranged in certain ways, the letters or symbols contained in an alphabet can be used to tell stories, communicate ideas and record significant events for posterity.
Greek lighting company Zambelis has developed its own alphabet of linear downlights and track lighting systems that can combine in almost limitless configurations to create bespoke lighting solutions. The modular products are named after letters in the Greek alphabet and are available in various lengths, widths and configurations to suit any space.

×The firm has also created a website that uses parametric principles to configure the Alphabet products. It’s like a spelling guide to help customers arrange the components in the best possible way. As Zambelis explains: ‘we are a project-oriented company and our website is the key to customise our products.’
Visitors to the site first select the product style (Alpha, Gamma, Kappa, Zeta etc.) that best suits their requirements. They can then configure the design by specifying properties including the dimensions, colour temperature, diffuser type, driver and body colour. When they’re done, the website generates a unique description code and datasheet with technical information about the products.
The website also allows users to download drawings, CAD files and wiring diagrams so they can incorporate Alphabet’s products into their project plans
