Le Corbusier Reloaded: LC2 at designfunktion
Angular, cubic, clear – and surprisingly comfortable: like no other piece of furniture, Le Corbusier's chair LC2 represents the furniture design of early modernism. The manufacturer Cassina has now clad the classic, designed in 1928, in new materials and colours that pick up on the original design of the 1920s.

1928 was a turbulent year which saw the birth of many innovations, including Le Corbusier's legendary LC2 armchair. The classic is now available from designfunktion at particularly attractive terms

The chair of the century: with its cubic shape and the separation of upholstery and frame, the LC2 armchair stands for the functionalism of classic modernism. It offers not only great design, but also a great deal of comfort when sitting

Soft colours and matte finishes allow the LC series on the occasion of the anniversary to come across as surprisingly warm and cosy. With covers made of fabric and natural leather, the armchair comes surprisingly close to its original look of 1928

Classics that complement each other perfectly: those who opt for an LC2 with leather upholstery will receive an LC9 stool worth up to €640 free of charge from designfunktion – in either a matching finish or with a contrasting mix of materials

This LC2 version is upholstered with the ‘Waterborn’ fabric of Danish manufacturer Kvadrat. This version is currently available at designfunktion for €2,590

The LC9 stool is also suitable as a table or a place for storing books and magazines. Its fresh combinations of colours and materials make it an eye-catcher in any living room

Since 1965, Cassina has manufactured Le Corbusier's furniture to the highest standards of craftsmanship – authorised by a foundation that the architect and furniture designer himself launched
