Interior design is an essential component of creating a sense of hospitality and welcome. Whether imagining a hotel or restaurant, a doctor’s office or school – selecting furniture that offers a physically warm welcome and comfortable experience sets the stage for a positive interaction, contributing to enhanced wellbeing, productivity and pleasure.
To establish an atmosphere of generosity, there are a few key qualities to ensure are covered by products. This includes opting for soft textures and ergonomic shapes, yet also taking the time to curate distinctive and characterful elements for a memorable experience.

Uniquely Original

Dutch specialist in contemporary hospitality furniture, Satelliet Originals, has been imagining ‘unforgettable places’ since 1971 for sectors such as leisure, office, care, retail and education with products that combine quality, comfort and versatility. First launched in 2021, the Satelliet Originals collection offers bold character to these qualities; including a dynamic range of chairs, tables and sofas, each created by a different designer with its own distinct signature.
To bring each ‘Original’ to life, Satelliet Originals collaborates closely with designers to translate their vision and tailor it to the hospitality environment. ‘Satelliet has a fantastic product development department, ensuring top-quality products are always created,’ says Jesse Visser, Amsterdam-based designer of the curved Arcadia chair and stool with perforated seat. ‘As a designer, it's wonderful to work this way,’ agrees Elise Luttik, designer of the sturdy yet elegant Chester chair in ash wood, with a backrest inspired by the classic Chesterfield sofas.

An experience to remember

Satelliet Originals offers designers a toolbox for hospitality interiors, to which, as well as character, comfort and customisation are essential. Many pieces offer voluptuous shapes as well as the versatility to adapt with a range of options for upholstery and finishes. Take the design by Studio Satelliet Noodle, a robust and inviting chair crafted with deep upholstery balancing strength and softness; or Mila, a rounded wooden armchair that offers a reassuring embrace. This approach extends to the outdoors with Yup, a stackable aluminium chair with woven fabric bands that gently contour to the body.

‘It is not a simple graphic translation, but a sculptural expression that harmonises sustainability, innovation and aesthetics’

The latest original, brings together all of these concepts, with a focus on sustainability. Sparky, by designer Frans Schrofer, fuses aesthetics and ergonomics with curved edges that seamlessly fold around a steel frame. ‘The beauty of this idiosyncratic design is that the chair is in balance, from every angle,’ says Schrofer, ‘It is not a simple graphic translation, but a sculptural expression that harmonises sustainability, innovation and aesthetics.’

Make an impact

At the 63rd edition of Salone del Mobile, Satelliet Originals unveils its latest highlights and an exclusive, tailor-made fabric print ‘You & Me’ by artist Toshy. Known for his rebellious, heartfelt approach, which began as street art, Toshy blends everyday symbols – anchors, hearts and flowers – into a distinctive artistic and graphic language. ‘You & Me is about celebrating uniqueness and individuality,’ Toshy explains. ‘A chair, bar stool or pouffe functions on its own – Me – but gains deeper meaning when paired with another, fostering interaction – You.’

Building on Satelliet Originals’ legacy of fearless design storytelling, Elise Luttik’s live-painted Chester chair sparked a bold collaboration, culminating in the striking You & Me pattern set to debut at Salone. The fabric will be showcased on the Gerlin chair, alongside a curated selection of Originals including Capsule, Ballet, Luca, Nibor and ivory Code within a custom stand that expresses the brand’s unapologetic identity.

‘The stand design was born out of what Satelliet Originals stands for: premium quality and tailor-made personalisation,’ explains Melanie Schalk, designer at Satelliet Originals, who led the creative direction of the project. ‘Layering, intriguing shapes and mixing soft tones create a friendly, inviting ambiance. Orange and pink exude warmth and confidence, while a lively shade of yellow adds a sense of belonging. The result? A space that embodies our core message: Be an original.’
