Horgenglarus makes perfect: for well over a century, the renowned Swiss furniture manufacturer has walked the line between handcraft tradition and technology

The hills are alive: nestled in the Alpine town of Glarus, Horgenglarus draws to a large extent on local craft talent, with its skilled workers often part of the company family for decades

Many hands make great work: Horgenglarus's quality signature extends right through the labour-intensive production process

Only the best will do: "They’re the least-popular people in the company,” says CEO Marco Wenger jokingly of the two employees tasked solely with making sure that every piece produced is flawless

Who's Who of Swiss design: CEO Marco Wenger emphasises that the products are the stars, not the designers. Nonetheless, Swiss design grandees like Hans Bellmann add pedigree. Shown here, his Einpunktstuhl, Ga Stuhl and Ateliertisch

Fight fashion: "Ultimately, Horgenglarus is selling robust, timeless furniture with longevity," explains CEO Marco Wenger
