Subtle boundaries in the collab of Bauwerk Parkett X balbek bureau
A shared space at the heart of a creative office subtly stands out from the rest. Here, creative Dynamic and quiet retreats merge, achieved through the choice of materials that define and connect thresholds.

Designed in scenes
Dynamic Frame’s multifunctional open-plan office, which is regularly reconfigured to new constellations, has a deliberately preserved but refined raw-construction aesthetic, precisely reflecting the job description of the busy team in terms of functionality: flexible workstations, meeting zones for brainstorming and creative exchange, an indispensable editing studio, plus a kitchen with dining area, a private cinema and a storage depot. In the centre of the space, a lounge area stands out from the industrial ambience with its natural vibrancy, while bringing a sense of homely flair

Close to cinema-ready
To bring this vision to life in the best possible way, adding a few inviting pieces of upholstered furniture was not enough. Something was needed to further emphasise the homely character – something that could only be achieved through the flooring, which inherently carries this essence. At the same time, the aim was to allow this area to visually stand out from the rest, creating the impression of a ‘room within a room’ where there is space for relaxation and recreation.Spinpark has transformed the central area into a natural work of art, a place for relaxation and recreation

Distinct yet unified
It was also important that the creation of this separate zone did not disrupt the flow of the space in the finer details, such as the transitions. The choice for Spinpark also proved to be ideal in this respect. ‘Wood and concrete harmonise very well visually. Thanks to its low profile and precise craftsmanship, Spinpark – like all other parquet formats from Bauwerk Parkett – can seamlessly adjoin other surfaces,’ says Pia Kautz, Head Brand & Communications at the Bauwerk Group. ‘The parquet adds a distinct, warm accent to the otherwise grey cement screed floor and visually separates the lounge area from the rest of the office. This creates a cosy feel to the space for team meetings or moments of personal reflection and pause in the dynamic working day of the creative professionals.’

Like a piece of furniture
Spinpark was developed by the Swiss creative studio atelier oї as a play on natural diagonals and realised using a new cutting technique. The two-layer parquet allows the oak to fully express its advantages. This, together with the fact that a seamless surface can be achieved by using a bevel-free manufacturing process, contributed significantly to the decision. Equally decisive was the fact that Dynamic Frame was already familiar with the advantages of this parquet flooring through their collaboration on the product film for Spinpark.Head to the Architonic Magazine for more insights on the latest products, trends and practices in architecture and design.
