Profile

Rosan Bosch Studio is a Copenhagen-based interdisciplinary design agency working in the cross field between art, design and architecture. The Studio was founded in 2011 by Dutch-born artist Rosan Bosch, who has worked professionally with art, design and architecture for more than twenty years.

We believe that the physical environment that surrounds us in our daily lives has a strong influence on our everyday wellbeing and development. Our spatial surroundings determine how we feel, what we experience and learn, and how we meet and interact. Therefore we use interior design as an active tool to create change- whether it comes to urban spaces, schools, libraries, hospitals or workplaces. With a focus on creativity and innovation we convert ideas into physical products and create spaces and environments that make a difference.

Rosan Bosch Studio’s portfolio ranges from small art and development projects to total design of schools, libraries, hospitals and private companies. The studio is internationally recognized for the design of the Vittra Schools in Sweden, as well as Hjoerring Central Library (2008) and the innovation-department at LEGO Headquarters in Billund, Denmark LEGO PMD. The studios newest projects to materialize is an innovative learning environment for the preschool institution at Liceo Europa in Zaragoza, Spain as well as the 29.000 square meter Sheik Zayed Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

At the moment Rosan Bosch Studio is working on the design of a new hospital building on the Faeroe Islands, as well as a proposal for a new heritage museum for Maersk, Denmark’s largest shipping company.

The studio recently opened a new office in Madrid Spain as well as undertaking activities in Singapore.

Design Principles

The design of an educational institution should be based on the institution’s pedagogical principles as a school and in that way reflect the organisational values through its design. Design can be said to communicate ideals and intentions. It does so in an abstract way, but can also communicate very explicitly how to behave within a space and interact with the surroundings. In a school, the integration between the pedagogical methods, the organisation and physical space is vital. The physical design can work against ideals and intentions or it can support and inspire. Design guides behaviour and can be a powerful tool for change and innovative development. It is therefore vital that the final design is a result of dialogue and continuous collaboration between the organization and Rosan Bosch Studio.
