Profile

Professor Max Dudler, born in Switzerland, founded his offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Zurich in 1992. Since then his work has been widely recognized for its rationalist strength, poetic charms and the quality of detailing. It has been honoured with national and international awards.

The scope of Max Dudler´s work includes a significant number of large-scale public and private investments such as the Jacob IBM Headquarters in Zurich and the Federal Ministry for Traffic and Building in Berlin as well as private villas, hotels, residential buildings, museums, libraries, interiors and finally furniture.

The ongoing successful participation in national and inter­national competitions contributes to the reputation of his office, which employs an average of 60 people in Berlin (head office), Frankfurt and Zurich.

Max Dudler

Born in Altenrhein, Switzerland

Studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt a. M. under Prof. Günther Bock and at the Academy of the Arts Berlin under Prof. Ludwig Leo

1981 – 1986 Architect in the offices of Oswald Mathias Ungers

1986 – 1992 Architecture firm: Karl Dudler, Max Dudler, Pete Welbergen

since 1992 Offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Zürich

1989 – 1995 Teaching position and lecture at the Universities of Venice and Naples

1996 –1999 Visiting Professor, Chair of Design and Industrial Construction, University of Dortmund

since 2004 Professor of Architecture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy
