Memory reflects tradition, technology, delight in experiment and the spirit of the times. The inspiration for Swiss designer Lukas Scherrer's elaborately designed rug made of pure new wool felt, with its three-dimensional surface suggesting traditional oriental carpet ornamentation, was the centerpiece of a standard computer - the print circuit board, which is to be found in every computer and in any kind of electronic equipment you care to name. Representing conductors, chips and plugs, the different patterns overlap in layers.
