Flatweaves Heritage Old Mazandaran Gelim 1

Our Heritage collection of flatweaves includes archaic design Luri and Ghashgha’i gelims as well as fine ‘modernist’ Manzadaran gelims which were almost unknown less than a decade ago, but which have now been documented in Parviz Tanavoli’s ground-breaking book ‘Undiscovered Minimalism’. Reza Zollanvari has collected some of the finest and most unusual of these gelims, including some extraordinary double-sided pieces. Our Mafrash chests are created from old woven bags used by Luri nomads to store and transport their bedding. The bags are stuffed with hard foam plastic to keep them light.
