C'est la Vie

“C’est la vie” is the first collection created from Unopiù’s collaboration with Michele Bonan. The

idea is to create elegant classically inspired furnishings using brand new top quality materials,

generally not found in outdoor furnishings, like polished mahogany reminiscent of the beautiful

finish in ships of old and of life on the open seas.

“C’est la vie” presents both a series of modular seating and a large lounge setting – including a

240cm 3 seater sofa- as well as a series of single, double and lounge sunloungers with elegant

extractable side tabletops and adjustable backs, thanks to manual blocking stainless steel gas

pistons offering any height you might wish. A truly refined smoking table with various extractable

tabletops transforms a relaxing lounge into a perfect dining area.

This collection is created for nautical, pool and luxury spa environments or elegant homes with

strong character and attention to every detail, shiny stainless steel feet finish and decorate each

piece. C’est la vie has a timeless elegant refined style with ample extremely comfortable seats, a

classic line that totally cuts the distinction between outdoor and indoor.

“I asked that the collection be called “C’est la vie” because this is a French expression that is

universally synonymous with joie di vivre, whose meaning is always positive. This inspiration came

from an international image that ranges from the American High Society of Martha’s Vineyard, low

profile icon of style and elegance, to the timeless class of the Cote d’Azure. This collection comes

from a personal need: to find outdoor funiture that could be used through my own vision of

consistency and harmony. An Italian brand like Unopiù allowed me this Made in Italy production,

where I had direct control of the quality and realization. The key word for this collection is

flexibility. I did not want to simply create outdoor furniture: C’est la vie stands out from other lines

for the ease with which it can also be used indoors. However the choice of glossy mahogany,

generally typical of elegant English furnishings, is an ideal essence for outdoor environments. This

is a flexible line: the lounge setting is made up of modules that can create infinite combinations

and every item is designed to be enjoyed at any time of the day,” Michele Bönan.
