Had M. C. Escher worked in stone, Hive would have been his dream creation. Giovanni Barbieri has taken a hexagon, given it depth in the form of concave and convex pyramids, and applied distinct finishes to each plane. The result is an undulating sense of movement, power and raw beauty. As with most Barbieri designs, Hive is ideal for high-impact focal points. Color variation is slight however this is a hand finished product which will have some variations in surface presentation. Hive is made from recycling marble dust production waste, reproducing faithfully the Natural Stone’s beauty. It is suitable for any installation even where Natural Stone is not suggested.
