In former times tile manufacturing was real handwork. The tile’s glaze was real art. Nowadays, in times of digital printing techniques and industrial production plants, the circumstances have changed. Uniformity and perfectionism dominate the design today. GLAZES breaks with old patterns – it is the return to the pure elegancy of handmade ceramic glazes.

Steuler-Fliesen has invented a special glazing technology which pours further glazing layers on already engobed tiles. „Through the different thicknesses of the transparent layers emerges a vivid, random picture“, explains development director Paul Wieser, “similar to glazing by hand”.

That’s why each one looks different – every tile is unique. Nevertheless, they fit perfectly together and create a varied but still harmonious wall covering.

An overall picture which is rich in con-trast can be created. With the plain tiles in noble black and elegant white as well as the combination of both colours – there are no limits to creativity. „We have reinvented the classical shades black and white in a new extraordinary way“, states head of marketing Stefan Grimmeisen, “The line even meets the high demands of architects and designers“.
