Firm, steady and eminently comfortable; she was crafted in the honor of Vera Beatriz, the beloved wife of internationally acclaimed Brazilian furniture designer Sérgio Rodrigues, the “Father of Brazilian Design.” Rodrigues’ furniture was utilized in large scale in Oscar Niemeyer’s designs in Brazil's capital Brasilia. Beatriz was the love of Sergio’s life, a steady, beautiful presence and his muse. This chair is intended to accommodate conversation and social interaction between two or more parties, not for solitary lounging. Like Beatriz Rodrigues herself, it offers strong support and compels its occupant to engage in a comfortable posture. It is intended for a sitting room for pre- or post-dinner talk, engagement and connection. Works well in a reception area or building lobby.
