The stainless steel deploys its expressive capacity through form: two parallel supports are joined by a piece of square tubing, and then separate to sit upon the square base. The silk shade lets an elegant, warm light pass through its rich and subtle skin. The electrical cable passes partially hidden through the central gap.
This lamp has an honest geometry and simple forms. Its constructive logic allows it to bend the piece down to use as a support. The technological idiom has been cared for: all of the angular transitions are done without soldering, using visible narrow-headed lateral screws, which thus accentuate the sincerity of the design.
This lamp was first produced by Gres, a Barcelona company created in 1957 by Milá and Correa. Gres produced and commercialised furniture and lighting by the best designers of the time.
