Concept

Maglia – a South American flavor
With their authentic craft look and South American aura, these rugs – which are knitted or crocheted to order – make a magical impression. Based on a selection of 30 color shades and free choice of size for each of the three different variants, what you get is a completely personal and original creation.

Maglia comes in three variants.

Maglia Classico
The classic product – it is knitted in strips with a width of 40 cm, which are then sewn together by hand.

Maglia Rondo
This round fiqué rug is crocheted in one piece in spiral form.

Maglia Canales
Like Maglia Rondo, Maglia Canales is also crocheted –but in this case to make a right-angled rug with acharacteristic low and raised structure.

Knitted skilfully and sustainably
Fique is practically the national fiber of Colombia. Used in former times for the production of coffee bags and agricultural yarns, this natural resource was discovered by Ruckstuhl by a miraculous coincidence, when partnership with a knitting enterprise in the Colombian heartland first gave a hint of what could be achieved using this durable and versatile fiber. Today the natural material is spun by hand in Colombia‘s Curití region, and then produced into uniquely beautiful carpets.
