Concept
PHILIA, the name used by the ancient Greeks to define a deep bond of friendship, is the new collection of outdoor sofas designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, the longstanding artistic director of RODA. Distinctive elements such as the generous dimensions, modularity and teak are clear references to the yachting world. The perimeter frame works both as a support for the backrests and as a tabletop, alternating with the comfortable seating.
The backrests and armrests of PHILIA are lightly padded and can recline in three positions, increasing the possible variations adn comfort. The armrest can also be used as a backrest or headrest: formal versatility, relaxation and great comfort.
The use of high-quality materials such as FSC® (FSC-C155819) certified teak, Batyline and belts, combined with the versatility and breadth of the modules, make PHILIA a testimony of RODA's original philosophy. Furniture for contemporary living dedicated to moments of comfort and conviviality in gardens and on terraces.
The supporting structure is the carabottino, the wooden grating typically used in yachts, the soul of this living furniture proposal in natural teak wood, which develops from the coffee table to the seats and outdoor sofa, up to more generous dimensions for the double chaise longue. Finely proportioned, comfortable with soft outdoor cushions, harmonious in the profiles, and with a wide range of colour in the upholstery, PHILIA is an outdoor sofa system with timeless appeal.
The collection is also available with the exclusive RODA | Missoni fabrics. This collaboration brings together Missoni’s sophisticated style and RODA’s manufacturing excellence to create outdoor furniture with a unique character. Jacquard fabrics with vibrant colors and refined textures dress the brand’s iconic pieces in a perfect balance of creativity, elegance, and artisanal craftsmanship made in Varese.
