There is a desired warmth in some patinated metals that allows for metal to replace wood, but this depth often lacks elegance and uniformity. Gilded Rust was created as a copper and weathered steel hybrid to capture the deep reds and browns that occur in the natural corrosion process. We added a very deep gloss matte layer of pearlized rust to create a wonderful complexity and sophisticated luminosity, all while remaining matte.
