Madame Tutu

Storage boxes from Postfossil, Designed by Claudia Heiniger

Product description

Concept

Madame Tutu is not the first stool with container, but certainly the first wicker basket with legs. The perception changes, the functions remain – madame tutu creates a utopian aesthetic that provokes reflection.

The inspiration was wicker baskets used for shopping, collecting or storage of groceries. Thanks to the design of the basket shape - based on a triangle shape and hand-woven - and the legs, the wicker basket either becomes a stool or can be used for household storage. The two contradicting materials wicker and metal are connected creatively together, but can be completely separated at any time.

In its simplicity madame tutu contains the meeting of hand craft and industrial production – a challenge, a utopia for today?

Material: steel legs in coloured lacquer, untreated wicker
Stool dimensions: 35 x 35 x 45 (w x d x h)
Container dimensions: 35 x 35 x 72 (w x d x h)
