Product description

Designed by Claudio Silvestrin, the H_O desks have very thick tops and are available in two different sizes. The surfaces are made of poplar plywood sandwiched between MDF boards and are veneered with thick-cut Ash-tinted oak or Louro Preto. Two models are available, H_O President Desk and H_O Executive Desk. The upper part of the surface features a number of joints that show the craftsmanship of the horizontal slats. The desk pad, made from an MDF panel, is always covered in Cuoio Saddle leather in the colours Tortora or Caffè. The leg is made of metal and upholstered in saddle-leather that matches the desk pad and the fronts of the drawer unit. On the opposite side to the leg, the H_O Desk has a column in Valcamonica porphyry or White porphyry. The H_O President Desk and H_O Executive Desk come in both light and dark versions. The light version sees the White porphyry column, with its white-beige colours, paired with Tortora saddle-leather and the tones of Ash-tinted oak. In the dark version the column in Valcamonica porphyry, with its browny-red tones, is matched with Caffè saddle-leather and the tones of Louro Preto wood. The H_O desks can be accessorised with a modesty panel covered in matching saddle-leather. The saddle-leather, in the two colours, can be either plain or feature a 'square' pattern which is handcrafted to produce a tone-on-tone motif with 16x16 cm chequers. The H_O drawer unit, which can be positioned to the right or left of the user, but always on the same side as the column, has a poplar plywood structure with Louro Preto or Ash-tinted oak veneer and front in saddle-leather. The drawer unit consists of a drawer and a filing drawer or compartment with door. The joints on the side of the drawer unit show the craftsmanship of the horizontal slats. On the surface, near the column there is an opening through which electric cables can be passed.

Concept

Elegant and intentionally rising above ideas of fashion, H_O is a collection of refined furniture of exclusive taste which Claudio Silvestrin designed in response to the need for a prestigious and tastefully luxurious Home Office. Centred around the natural beauty of materials from the oldest traditions of craftsmanship, such as leather, porphyry and wood, and a design that is attentive to the harmonious proportions of all the parts, the H_O collection appeals to the renewed tendency to care for and take pleasure in the uniqueness of exclusive furniture.

Developed as several elements that may be placed alongside each other, the design is characterised by the natural porphyry columns of the tables and desks that respond to the warm tones of the wood and hand-crafted leather to produce a “ton sur ton” chessboard effect. It is an unusual combination for a prestigious collection, designed to last over time.

The collection consists of a desk with drawers, available in two different sizes; a pc table; a console table with a thick top; a cupboard; and three tables of different sizes, two circular and one oval, to meet the different needs of social encounters and work. The bookcase, which is modular, is based on a combination of three base elements – drawer, column and shelf – that can be used in different configurations.

The surfaces of the tables, desks, cabinet, console table and bookcase are in dove grey or coffee-coloured leather. The supporting columns of the desks and tables are in Valcamonica Porphyry, in chestnut-purple, or in White Porphyry, with white-beige tints. The wood of the shelves and frames come in ash-tinted oak for the light-coloured leather or stone combinations, or in Louro Preto for the darker versions in the collection. The entire collection is upholstered in Tortorà or Caffè-colours hide. In the ‘Square’ versions, the basic upholstery is finished with a 16x16 cm square ‘tone-on-tone’ design.
