Concept

The now iconic Platek MESH range has demonstrated its great decorative potential and versatility of use. The range of products, initially inspired by the classic shape of the abat jour, revisited in a contemporary and, more importantly, technological theme which is perfect outdoor use, now includes the following versions: table lamp with power supply or rechargeable battery, wall lamp, downlights and now three sizes of floor lamps, including the latest creation the MESH XL, which received a Special Mention in the German Design Award 2019.

The designer of the collection Marco Acerbis commented on this saying, "This is a natural evolution of the product range specifically dedicated to the world of outdoor lighting contracts that require important statement pieces as well as very visible objects for creating outdoor living spaces under the stars," This is how Marco Acerbis defined the new MESH XL floor lamp. "I am very flattered, and on behalf of Platek who believed in my project, to have received the Special Mention in the German Design Award.

The Mesh product range was also the star of a special project during 2018, namely MESH limited edition developed by the designer together with Baolab.
The MESH Limited Edition is a collection of 200 pieces (50 for each colour: blue, red, green, bronze), suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, in which the cordless and cabled table lamps of the iconic collection are reinterpreted in terms of materials, finishes and colour by designer Marco Acerbis, in collaboration with Baolab, the laboratory that researches trends, materials and use of colour. The idea of creating four ‘moods, came from this fruitful collaboration and were treated as if they were individuals with very distinct characters. In addition to the in-depth study on colours for the varnishes, materials such as leather and fabrics were used to customise each piece by hand. The final result is a line of unique objects, featuring a fascinating balance of contrasts, where industrialisation meets tailoring nd design.
