Characterized by the typical Beni Ourain ivory field, this particular carpet is both expressive of what are largely representative Beni Ourain aesthetic preferences, but is also a unique piece with a distinct voice. The generous amount of line work that runs throughout the carpet imbues it both with structure and character, rigidity and flexibility – and the eccentric arrangement of this line work creates an impression of abstraction, making this an especially complex rug. Small tribal details appear at irregular intervals in the negative space of the ivory field, adding further depth to the rug.
