The idea behind this collection is very much related to the printed technology used by moooi carpets. since I saw it last year I wanted to work on a subject that could make the best out of this amazing possibility to create a collection that couldn't be possible otherwise. It's been a long process of research that began with the idea of creating digital images of furry subjects, that could create the illusion of walking on a furry surface that infact was perfectly smooth as moooi carpets are. At the beginning it's been a technical struggle to achieve an interesting visual result, created entirely in a 3d environment, hair by hair, than began a long test on subjects. At the end I thought the best solution would be to use existing subjects and let the technology do the rest. The final result is a collection that brings together traditional design, in some cases dating back to 16th century, with a very contemporary and complex tecnological process of image generation.
