The clean design of the case is made out of aluminium with a matt brushed golden finish, and the tone-on-tone hands, markers and Mondaine logo impart a look of sheer elegance. In 1944 the Swiss engineer Hans Hilfiker invented the Swiss railways clock. The characteristic red second hand soon became its most recognizable feature.
