benchwall

Sofas from molo, Designed by Stephanie Forsythe, Todd MacAllen

Product description

Concept

benchwall · paper + textile

benchwall is a flexible bench with a tall backrest that functions as both acoustic space partition and seating. Composed of either paper or a spun non-woven textile, the expandable honeycomb structure and pleated surface break up reflected sound and provide acoustic absorption to enhance clarity of speech. Adaptable in length and placement, benchwall can stretch into straight, high-backed seating or sweep into spontaneous circular meeting rooms. benchwalls connect to one another by magnetic end panels, or to softseating benches to create unique space to suit any type of gathering. With time and use, the top surface of the seating softens and folds into a unique, organic pattern. The crushed facets catch light in a beautiful, variegated way, while the honeycomb below remains strong and intact.
