1956 saw the first Metalmobil creation: Art. 001, a steel and interwoven wire chair, with which the company had immediate success on the Italian hospitality market and later also Europe-wide. The great success of the 001 encouraged the company to create other seating collections to keep satisfying the needs of the hospitality market. The wire is strictly hand-woven by expert operators-there is no machinery in the world that can take the place of man in this handicraft. The first Filoline chairs can still be found on the Italian Riviera today, testimony to the solidity of a product designed right from the outset for intensive use and to withstand the various weather conditions.
