Product description

Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner is one of the most important German glass designers of the post-war period. His glass designs are characterised by his origins in the craft environment of the glass centres in the Bavarian Forest. Some of his serial works, which he developed from the 1950s onwards for the renowned glassworks Peill & Putzler, show a strong proximity to the reduced repertoire of forms of modernism.

In close cooperation with his descendants, mawa has reissued a selection of glass pendants as a re-edition. The original designs have been slightly modified and technically adapted to today's standards. Glass holders made of translucent and shatterproof Makrolon® support the shades, and a textile cable with an internal steel core anchored in the glass holder ensures safety. The glasses are movably mounted and easy to clean. An intelligent wireless control for dimming via CASAMBI-App can be integrated on request.

Pendant luminaires in the gangkofner edition can be configured in modules. Select the shape ( click here for an overview ), type of glass, colours of the pendant and canopy, and cable. Ideally you should inform your dealer about the desired cable length when ordering. In rooms of the Wilhelminian style, gas hooks can be concealed with height-adjustable canopies.

Each lamp is unique - a note on the glass quality Glasses of the gangkofner edition are, among other things, very elaborately manufactured by hand in the triplex process and consist of three layers of glass. Slight deviations in dimensions, glass thickness or isolated air bubbles are therefore unavoidable (2.5 - 3 bubbles per 50 mm are within the tolerance). Slight colour deviations can also occur with metallised crystal glass and smoked glass. These deviations are always a sign of quality craftsmanship.
