SPECIFICATIONS
Material: 100% (felted) New Zealand wool (front) and velvet or silk/
satin (back).
Filling: Inner cushion, filled with down/feathers.
OPTIONS
Motifs: ‘Dot’, ‘Ciam’, ‘Mezzo’
Colours: Pink/gold, brown/yellow
Sizes: 60x60 cm. ‘Dot’ is also available in 40x40cm and 100x100cm

Concept

Traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design in these luxurious, handfelted ‘Glow’ cushions. A lover of all things artisinal and an advocate of fair trade, Mariëlle found a group of women in Kathmandu (Nepal), whose expert hands turn wool into glorious felt ‘sheets’ with geometric designs felted into them. This provides these women with sustainable work and ensures their access to an independent income, while producing something truly beautiful. The ‘sheets’ are transformed into cushions in Italy, by backing them with rich fabrics such as velvet and silk/stain.
