Free-standing lights from Lambert, Designed by Uwe van Afferden

Product description

On the occasion of its 50-year company anniversary, Lambert is presenting a nickel-plated version of one of their most popular classics, the Switch On floor lamp. Taking advantage of state-of-the-art lighting technology, the lamp can be used with dimmable LED luminaires and is therefore equipped with a dimmer. In terms of form and technology, these lamps are based on an early industrial model. The old articulated joints have been replicated down to the last detail, and are what makeSwitch On such a flexible lamp. Purism is also reflected in the materials: the steel of the rods and foot and the nickel-plated aluminium reflector are reminiscent of a time when electricity was not yet available to everyone through power sockets. A room can be decorated and illuminated in different ways with this lamp. Its flexible arms it provide ample lighting over a reading chair or in a corner, while at the same time lighting up the ceiling or highlighting a picture on the wall.

Concept

The Switch On table and standing lamps follow a pre industrial model concerning their technique and shape. The joints which make Switch On so flexible are carefully crafted. Purism is reflected in the material as well. The stem assembly and joints are manufactured of bronzed steel. The iron base and the reflectors are made of aluminium with a satin mat black finish.
The table lamp is the ideal partner for reading and provides excellent illumination for a workplace on a desk.
The Switch On ceiling lamp, which comes with either 3 or 4 arms, can be used in a variety of ways to enhance living spaces with the utmost flexibility in lighting. For example, as a ceiling lamp over a dining table or desk. The versatile rotating arms make it possible to efficiently illuminate a table while at the same time reflecting off the ceiling or showcasing a picture on the wall. The wall lamp with two rotating arms is itself a small light sculpture with practical usability.
In terms of operation and versatility the Switch On ceiling lamp multi-module can meet the highest expectations. Its narrow baldachin sports 6 plugs, in which 4 double lights can be arranged, depending on the individual room and lighting requirements. This way the living room can be reinvented with stunning effects. With almost unlimited flexibility in lighting, the versatile rotating arms make it possible to efficiently illuminate a table while at the same time reflecting off the ceiling or showcasing a picture on the wall. Additionally, the lamp can be individually adjusted to varying ceiling heights – for utmost flexibility in lighting.
